The Kalash Uchal Festival celebrates the annual barley and wheat harvests in August with song, dance, and tribute to nature. Special foods, such as cheese, yoghurt, and cornbread, are prepared on Uchal. Women in traditional clothes dance. During the special prayers, the procession sets off to the plateau outside Balangkuru, where the long night of dancing begins. The celebrations continue for several more days and are moved to different parts of the valley.<\/span><\/p>\n
